LAMSON'S CONICAL DRAG

Lamson reels feature a unique drag system consisting of a pair of precisely matched conical elements, drawn together with spring tension to produce variable rates of rotational braking. Reconfiguring the surface area of traditional disks into a pair of matching conical elements permits the drag to be completely sealed. Since the mass of the drag elements is centralized, the spool's rotating mass is much lower, making the reel more responsive to light drag settings. Couple this with Lamson's stainless steel zero lash roller bearing and you've got a rock solid drag that will outlast any fish.
